TRAVEL

The most convenient travel route is by air via Oslo (capital of Norway) up to Alta in northern Norway, which is the closest airport. From the airport there is bus service to Guovdageaidnu/Kautokeino (2 ½ hours, 135 km). If you arrive at times other than scheduled public bus services, we arrange for pick-up from airport at certain times. Please inform organizer (winhec[at]samiskhs.no) about arrival time at Alta. Also, make sure that you have a visa, if you need one (see link below).

Who to fly with?

There are two companies that fly from Oslo to Alta.

Public bus

The public bus Alta Airport - Kautokeino goes according to the following time schedule. If you arrive at times when there is no public bus, make sure to contact the organizers (winhec[at]samiskhs.no) so that we can arrange pick-up at the airport.

ACCOMMODATION

The organizers of the WINHEC AGM 2010 have reserved rooms for the AGM participants in Thon Hotel, Kautokeino Villmarkssenter and Arctic Motell. All these are within walking distance to the conference venue.

Please choose your accommodation reservation on the final registration form (not opened yet). Your hotel reservation will be confirmed together with your participation confirmation. Note that the reservations will be made on "first come, first served" basis.

Your credit card will be charged in the same week as you pay, but maybe not the very same day.
